The Geospatial Experience Center or GeoEx Center at Front Range Community College, funded through a grant from the National Science Foundation in 2019, was created to develop a highly skilled and diverse geospatial workforce. The Center’s primary goal is to reduce the employment barrier students face due to lack of experience by offering them the opportunity to work on real-world geospatial projects. Participation will help students gain the following essential work skills which correspond with core student learning outcomes at Front Range Community College:
Project Management
Professionalism
Effective Communication
Technology Literacy
Critical Thinking
Quantitative Reasoning
To achieve this goal, the GeoEx Center pairs students with local, state, and federal government agencies, geospatial companies, and other college departments, to execute geospatial projects.
